The South African Clinical Technology Association (SACTA) is a professional body representing Clinical Technologists across South Africa. We support practitioners, students, and graduates in disciplines such as Cardiology, Cardio Perfusion, Pulmonology, Reproductive Biology, Critical Care, Nephrology, and Neurology, connecting education, industry, and healthcare to advance the profession.

cedric mabe

Acting Chairperson former Vice Chairperson

Cedric Mabe is an experienced Clinical Technologist with over 20 years of expertise in both public and private healthcare. Since qualifying in 1997, he has developed a deep understanding of organisational structures, healthcare policy, and regulatory frameworks that shape the profession. Cedric holds a B.Tech in Clinical Technology specialising in Nephrology from the Durban University of Technology.

Passionate about professional advocacy, Cedric is dedicated to strengthening the recognition and value of Clinical Technology within South Africa’s healthcare system, ensuring it remains a vital and respected profession.

Ncamisile Maphumulo

Secretary

Ncamisile Maphumulo is a qualified Clinical Technologist with a Bachelor’s degree in Nephrology. She brings extensive experience in kidney health and dialysis, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Passionate about improving access to quality renal care, Ncamisile founded her own private clinic, providing personalized dialysis services for patients living with kidney disease. Guided by compassion and clinical excellence, she is dedicated to empowering patients and ensuring care is delivered with professionalism, dignity, and respect.

Stacey Leigh Wilson

Education and Development Co-ordinator

Stacey Leigh Wilson is a Clinical Technologist specializing in Reproductive Biology, passionate about supporting individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. After completing her degree at the Durban University of Technology, she gained extensive experience through training at leading private fertility clinics in Durban and serving in the reproductive unit of a government hospital in Pretoria.

Stacey co-founded the first fertility clinic in Pietermaritzburg, where she collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. She has also authored two fertility-related articles published in international medical journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Since 2020, Stacey has served as the Education and Development Coordinator for SACTA, playing a key role in professional development and training initiatives for Clinical Technologists across South Africa.

Siphelele Simo Nkala

Treasurer

Siphelele Simo Nkala is a qualified Clinical Technologist specializing in Nephrology, with over 20 years of experience in dialysis care. He holds a B.Tech in Clinical Technology (Nephrology) from DUT and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from UP.

Simo has held various leadership roles, including Unit Manager and Director of multiple dialysis centres, and currently manages two units under Universal Renal Care, overseeing clinical, administrative, and HR operations. Passionate about patient care, staff development, and kidney disease awareness, he also serves as an external dissertation supervisor, POPI compliance officer, and active member of SACTA, RCSSA, and the HPCSA Professional Conduct Committee.
